Aunt Tiffy & Aunt Courtney

Aunt Tiffy flew out here from Atlanta to visit for a week and Aunt Courtney came up to join us in the fun. Tyler went right to work on Aunt Tiffy to make her beautiful with mommy's makeup while Aunt Courtney fed Jason a popsicle! He LOVED it and we could not get it away from him.

Bouncy seat retired

The other day Jason was sitting in his bouncy seat while I was cooking dinner and when I looked over at him, he was totally sitting up and almost leaning out of it! I remember Tyler doing this same thing and that is when we had to put it away. Jason just loves to sit up and see what is going on around him.

Tyler just loves Jason (at the moment) and has been so sweet with him lately. Tyler crawled in the crib with him tonight as I was putting on his pj's. It won't be long before Jason can hold his own with Tyler. They already like to wrestle and play around. Sometimes Tyler gets annoyed and says, "Mommy, Jason getting me."

BTW... These pj's fit Tyler at a year!!! Jason is not quite 6 months! They are a little long in the legs, but fit great everywhere else.

We were playing outside today and Tyler went in to get his glue. I had no idea what he was up to and when I came in the garage I saw that he had been gluing bark to the wall!! I guess it is some form of new art!

Uncle Steve

We spent the weekend in Rangely visiting my parents. My Uncle Steve flew in from San Diego, so we picked him up from the airport and headed to Rangely. We had a great weekend relaxing, playing games and for Grandma and Grandpa getting very little sleep! Jason has been a little stinker at night and I have not gotten much sleep, so they volunteered to keep Jason in their room and get up with him. I am not sure if they will volunteer that service again, but I sure enjoyed the sleep!!

Uncle Steve & Jason Tyler loves to cook at Grandma's house!

Tyler really loves to play with Jason. They make each other laugh all the time, it is really fun to watch them interact. I am sure that they will be trouble in a few years!!

Week in review

Jason is now 5 months old! He weighs 17 pounds and can sit up on his own. He grabs for everything in sight, especially food or Tyler's sippy cup. He is a happy little guy and loves to watch every move that Tyler makes and just laugh. He is not sleeping as well as he used to, but we are trying to fix that.

Tyler talks up a storm now! He will talk your ear off and he has learned the word, "why," so I have had to come up with an answer for everything you can imagine. He will finally say "Grandma" and "Grandpa" and a few other names - if he wants to or if you pay him to ;-)

Tyler was helping me make cookies the other day and he was totally covered in flour when we were done. I took off his clothes and was just going to rinse his legs off in the sink, but that turned into a whole bath in the sink! He loved it and played in the sink for almost an hour!

Tyler found his winter beany hat and gloves and insisted that we put them on and go fishing! He got his fishing stuff and we went outside. He sat on his little boat and grabbed his fishing pole so he could catch a big one! This kid has quite the imagination and there is never a dull moment in our house!!

My parents came to visit over the weekend and had a great time with the kids. I am not exactly sure how it happened, but I was called up to the kitchen to see what my son was up to. When I got up there, he was sitting on the counter with his hands in a jar of honey!! He was smearing it all over the counter and squishing it between his fingers. Grandpa had something to do with all of this :-)

Smarty Pants

Tyler's vocabulary has really gone crazy in the last month. He pretty much says everything and anything now and talks in sentences. It is amazing how much they pick up and the things they pay attention to when you have no idea! Today we were playing in Tyler's kitchen and he made me some rice and a glass of milk. I drank all of the milk and asked him if I could have more and his response was, "When you eat." Can you tell that he has heard that one a few times??? It cracked me up!

Yesterday Tyler and Jimmy were playing outside and Tyler started to count the letters on the side of my car and he counted all the way to 10! This is his normal counting pattern: 1, 2, 4, 8, 10. So after he did that, I was thinking that I needed to start working on the alphabet with him, well he beat me to it. Today he picked up a book and said, "a, b, c, d, e, f, g" and then he just started repeating it and getting silly. It is so much fun to be able to watch these little minds learn and grow. I love being able to stay at home and see all of this first hand.

Sunny Florida

We just got back from a fun trip to Florida to visit Jimmy's family. We had a great time swimming in his Mom's pool, going to the Museum of Natrual History, visiting a teaching zoo, riding the golf cart, playing on Lexi's fun toys, spending a couple of days in a condo on the beach and just hanging out with family. Both of the boys did very well, with a few tantrums, but that is to be expected out of a two year old.

Jason loved putting his feet in the sand, but did not like the water.

Tyler had a great time playing at the beach in the evenings - he would bury his hands, run awy from the water, and chase the birds. He did not want anything to do with the beach during the day; he just wanted to stay in the condo with Grandma.

Bald is beautiful!

Florida Preview

Everyone has been asking for pictures from Florida - so here are just a few. I will put more on with details later this week. We had a very long day and I need to get some sleep :-)
