Here a little, there a little

These are just a few pictures of what we have been up to the past couple of weeks.

Courtney and Quinton graduate from BYU!! YEAH!! Quinton got accepted to grad school at Boise State, so they will be moving up there next month.

This picture was taken at the graduation party. Jason is actually laughing (or fake laughing) if you can believe it. He would throw his head back an open his mouth as wide as he could and make a funny noise. Then, of course, we would all start laughing and that would make him do it even more.

Hogle Zoo!!

Jason loved playing in the turtle shell at the zoo.

Jen watched the boys for me one day and when I went to pick them up, this is how I found Jason - sound asleep in the high chair!! Why doesn't he ever do that for me???

We borrowed Tiffany's bike trailer the other day and had a blast with it. So, of course, Tyler had to have a trailer for his bike to give Jason a ride. (this was the best trailer we could rig - he did not give Jason a ride just in case you were wondering :-)

This was our weekend project. My sister, Tiffany, came to help watch the kids so Jimmy and I could work. We took out all of the bark that was in this area and lots of dirt and replaced it with red, rubber mulch. It looks really nice and is much softer for the kids to play on.

Jason's one year pictures

My friend, Tammy, took Jason's 1 year pictures for me last week. She did an amazing job - you can check out her photography blog at: http://tammymarxphotography.blogspot.com/

I can't believe that Jason is already a year old. He is so much fun and such a happy boy! He is always smiling, and always up to something. Him and Tyler are going to make a very dangerous team in a few years!!

Tyler's Tree

Every boy needs his own tree - right?? On Monday, Tyler and I were looking through this big book of crafts and he spotted a tree and said he wanted to make it, so we got busy. He wanted to use wood for the trunk and construction paper to make leaves for the top. He found a piece of wood, paints and the paper. He painted the wood all by himself and then cut out the leaves. We glued them to the trunck (with wood glue, of course) and the tree was complete. As the leaves were drying, Tyler said that we needed to take the tree outside so it could "blow in the wind." We did just that, and we now have a lovely new tree in our front yard. Tyler was so excited to show everyone his tree!!

I don't know if you can see Tyler's eyes in this picture, but he was looking off to the left and I asked him to look at me, so he turned his head but kept his eyes on whatever he was looking at. It was pretty funny :-)

A little dirt never hurt

Jason is definitely my boy! He loves to get dirty, eats all the time, and likes to pick fights! Tyler on the other hand is completely opposite of these things. Life would be so boring if all of our kids were exactly the same.

The other day, Jason was playing with his sand/water table and was just completely covered in sand. Tyler came over to play and, heaven forbid, Jason touched him with his sandy hands and Tyler freaked out!

We have also discovered that Jason loves fruit snacks. I got a package for each of the boys and we went downstairs to eat them. Jason finished his bag and then Tyler fed him the rest of his. Jason still wanted more and headed up to the pantry to find them. Jimmy opened the pantry door for Jason, he grabbed the fruit snacks and took off! It was so funny. The kid never stops eating!

This is how the boys entertain themselves while I cook dinner. They sit on the back patio and Tyler gets food to feed Jason. Tyler usually ends up dumping the whole bag of snacks out and Jason spends the next little while enjoying all of the food. I don't complain because it keeps them both busy for a few minutes so I can get dinner done!

Just brushing my teeth!

This picture is so cute. It was taken at my Mom's classroom. Jason love the headphones and would dance to the music. I think it was hard for him to hold up his head for very long because they were so heavy. They squished his cheeks together - it was so funny!

New Bike

Jimmy decided that Tyler was getting too big for his tricycle, so they went out and bought a "big boy" bike the other day. Tyler was so excited to go get it. Every time that we have gone to Wal-mart over the past few weeks he has gone right to the bikes to find one just the right size to take for a ride.

Daddy had to straighten the training wheels, and of course, Tyler needed to help. After they did this, Tyler wasn't interested in riding the bike, he wanted to get the tools and fix it :-)

Drummer Boy & WWF

The first video is of Tyler playing the drums at my Aunt's house. He had so much fun, and was actually pretty good at it. When he gets off the stool during the video, he is using the foot pedel to play the big drum. I wish that my darn camera recorded sound :-(

The second video is of the boys wrestling. They are so funny to watch when they both get wound up. Jason can hold his own with Tyler and will soon dominate!

Happy Birthday, Jason

Jason turned a year old on the 12th. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. Jason is so much fun and has a great little personality! He keeps us on our toes and is always up to something.

My mom made the train cake - which turned out AWESOME!! We had a BBQ with family and friends, opened presents and of course, ate cake. Jason dissapointed us a little bit because he LOVES food and we expected him to dig into the cake, but he was tired and grouchy by the time we did that and he did not even taste it! Oh well, he still had a great birthday!

The kids to the right of Jason are Abbie Scanlan, Blaine Belshe and Freddie Scanlan.

Everyone playing with Jason's fun new water/sand toy while Jason was napping.

Happy 80th Birthday, Grandma!

So, I am a week late in getting these pictures up, but better late than never. We had a huge surprise party for my Grandma's 80th birthday last weekend. It was a lot of fun to see family that we don't get to see very often. There were new surprises for my Grandma around every corner.

Yes, there were really 80 candles!
